Local school supply lists are now available on TeacherLists

Parents from local schools have a new tool in their back-to-school bag of tricks this year, as all of their schools supply lists are now posted on TeacherLists.com.

With just one or two clicks, parents can find all of their 2016 lists and get a head start on this annual back-to-school chore. Parents can print their lists or – for the first time – look up their lists right on their smartphones in store aisles. They can even shop easily online as TeacherLists automatically shares the lists with national retailers like Target and Staples.

The site includes lists for the following Schools:

• Avon Elementary, Avon

• Discovery Community, Waite Park

• Early Childhood Education, Sartell

• Kennedy Community, St.  Joseph

• Madison Elementary, St. Cloud

• North Junior High, St. Cloud

• Oak Ridge Elementary, Sartell

• Pine Meadow Elementary, Sartell

• Sartell Middle, Sartell

• Westwood Elementary, Saint Cloud

• Sauk Rapids-Rice High School

• Pleasant View Elementary

• Mississippi Heights Elementary

• Mississippi Heights Middle School

“For decades, the supply list process has been a frustration for parents,” points out John Driscoll, TeacherLists president. “Where to find the lists?  When are they available?  Forgetting the list on the counter at home? All of those issues are solved with TeacherLists.”

More than 50,000 schools now have lists posted on TeacherLists. Lists for more than 1 million classrooms are live on the site and include required and requested items as well as specific notes and clarifications from teachers and school staff. Parents can even print coupons for back-to-school savings from popular back-to-school brands.

Complete details and all the lists are available at www.teacherlists.com.

Red Cross urgently needs donors to give blood

The American Red Cross urges blood donors to give in the final weeks of summer to help overcome a critical summer blood shortage. The summer months are among the most challenging times of years to collect enough blood and platelet donations to meet patient needs. Many regular donors delay giving while they take vacation and participate in summer activities. The need for blood doesn’t take a summer break though.

Donors of all blood types are urgently needed to give now to help ensure blood is available for patients in need. Those who donated blood earlier this summer may be eligible to donate again. Blood can be safely donated every 56 days, and double red cells can be donated every 112 days. In appreciation for helping to save lives, those who come to donate blood or platelets with the Red Cross now through Aug. 31 will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card claim code.

Schedule an appointment to give blood by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). To help reduce wait times, donors are encouraged to make appointments and complete the RapidPass online health history questionnaire at redcrossblood.org/rapidpass.

Humane Society looking for help with pet adoption

The volunteer spends time socializing the animals, assists customers in meeting animals, processes adoption paperwork, and provides information to customers. The events are roughly 4 hours and they ask for a once-a-month commitment. Contact Rose Hegerle, Tri-County Humane Society, at 320-252-0896 ext. 27.
