July 28
5:48 a.m. Personal assist. 10th Avenue N. An officer was dispatched in reference to smoke detectors going off at a residence. The officer arrived on scene and didn’t notice any smoke or fire. Officers unplugged the detectors, but they would continue to go off every few minutes. Officers advised the fire marshal of the issue.
12:07 p.m. Welfare check. Officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to a suicidal female. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the woman. She stated she wanted to kill herself. She stated she had been to the hospital a week ago and got new medications but they were not working. Officers transported the woman to St. Cloud Hospital without incident.
7:53 p.m. Accident. Seventh Avenue S. Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at a residence. Officers determined one vehicle was parked while another vehicle attempted to back out of the driveway. The vehicle backing out of the driveway side-swiped the vehicle parked in the driveway causing minor damage. Officers completed a driver’s exchange form and explained it to both drivers.
July 29
5:21 a.m. Gun complaint. Watab Park. Officers were dispatched in reference to a juvenile with a BB gun. Officers located a female matching the description provided by dispatch. A large, black BB gun was located on her person. The female was arrested for possessing it in a public place.
8:26 a.m. Medical. 11th Avenue E. Officers were dispatched for a male with swelling in his leg, shortness of breath and elevated temperature. Upon officer arrival, they met with the male and his wife. The male stated he wasn’t feeling well and was running a temperature of 100.5 degrees. Officers started the man on oxygen and monitored his condition until Gold Cross Ambulance arrived.
July 30
2:32 a.m. Verbal. Evergreen Drive. Officers were dispatched for two adult males having a verbal altercation at a restaurant. Staff was keeping one of the males inside after the other male left. Upon officer’s arrival on scene, the man had a cab on the way to bring him home. Officers checked the area for the other male but were unable to locate him.
8:19 a.m. Troop Drive. Medical. Officers were dispatched for a 55-year-old male possibly having a stroke. Officers arrived on scene and observed the male sitting upright on the couch. The man was alert and had a weak pulse. Officers administered high-flow oxygen. The man didn’t show signs of a stroke. Gold Cross Ambulance arrived on scene and took over care.
7:55 p.m. DWI. First Street N. Officers were dispatched for a report of an intoxicated driver. A citizen was reporting a younger male having difficulty parking a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed the male sitting on a bench. The citizen was still on the phone with dispatch and pointed the male out. The man stated to officers it was his vehicle and admitted to drinking. He was 18-years-old and had a strong odor of alcohol. He refused field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. He was arrested and transported to the Sartell Police Department. He later submitted to a breath test with a final result of 0.14. He was left in the custody of the Stearns County Jail.
July 31
12:47 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Le Sauk Drive. Officers were dispatched to AmericInn. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot. A male and female party were located inside the vehicle smoking cigarettes. They claimed the female was having problems with her roommate, and they were trying to figure out what to do. They were told the AmericInn staff wanted them gone. Officers asked the pair to leave. They left without incident.
10:35 a.m. Domestic. Ash Circle. Officers were dispatched to a report of a husband and wife who had a fight that became physical. The male party was arrested for domestic assault and transported to the Stearns County Jail without incident.
Aug. 1
12:09 a.m. Traffic stop. Pinecone Road N./17th Street N. While on routine patrol, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle also had a broken light that showed white to the rear. The officer stopped the vehicle, and the driver was verbally warned for both violations and released.
3:26 p.m. Juvenile. An officer was asked by dispatch to call a male in regards to his daughter. The male stated he was out of town and his daughter was staying with friends. The man was notified his daughter was seeing a juvenile male. The man didn’t want his daughter to be seeing this boy. Officers made contact with the juvenile male; he stated he wouldn’t have any further contact with the man’s daughter.
