April 17
3:50 p.m. Traffic stop. First Street NE. An officer witnessed a speeding. When attempting to stop, the vehicle turned into a parking lot. The driver of the vehicle admitted to speeding to the officer and only had an instruction permit. The officer issued a citation for both infractions.
April 18
1:40 p.m. Traffic stop. CR 1. Officers stopped a vehicle with no taillights on a trailer. Officers were given a false name initially. The driver of the vehicle was detained and it was discovered the driver had arrest warrants. Upon search the individual had a hypodermic needle in his pocket. The driver was arrested for the warrants and cited for giving a false name, driving after cancellation and the possession of a hypodermic needle.
April 19
5:40 p.m. Staff. CR 1. Officers saw a vehicle stalled on the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle stated the battery had died and a new battery was on the way. The officer stayed behind the vehicle with lights for safety until the battery arrived.
April 20
1:20 a.m. Intoxicated person. Seventh Avenue S. Officers were called to a residence about an intoxicated individual. The individual told officers he was attempting to walk home from the bar and got lost. Because of his intoxication level and not being able to find someone to care for the individual, officers transported the individual to the hospital.
April 21
7:25 p.m. Indecent exposure. CR 1. An officer witnessed an individual urinating on the side of the road. Officers stopped and the individual admitted what he was doing. The individual gave the officer a false name. When searched, the individual was in possession of hypodermic needles. The individual was arrested and transported to Stearns County Jail for the indecent exposure, giving a false name and being in possession of hypodermic needles.
April 22
1:55 p.m. Warrant. River Oaks Lane. Officers working with Benton County Sherriff’s Office were asked to locate an individual in Sartell that had a warrant for their arrest. Officer located the individual at a residence and was allowed in by the homeowner. Officers took the individual into custody without incident.
April 23
8:50 a.m. Animals. Seventh Street N. Officers were notified about abandoned cats left in an apartment. Officers notified city maintenance. City maintenance workers picked up the cats.
