The Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Festival is a four-day music and camping festival Aug. 8-11 at El Rancho Mañana, Richmond. The event includes 30 hours of live concerts; contests, crafts and games; 20 hands-on workshops; new groups on the Young Talent Stage; and dozens of food and merchant booths in the Marketplace Area. Back to School 5K seeks sponsors
A Family 5K and Kids 1K Obstacle Course, sponsored by PineConeVision Center and Dentistry for Children, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Sartell Middle School. Please help support Sartell-St. Stephen School District Health Services by becoming an event sponsor. The health department is in need of pediatric recovery cots for the preschool health office, regular size cots for the middle school health office, fingertip pulse oximeters and a few other health-related needs. Wiggle, Jiggle, Jam set Aug. 6 at library
Wendy’s Wiggle, Jiggle and Jam, for children ages 3 to 12, will be held from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Al Ringsmuth Public Library, 253 5th Ave. N., Waite Park. Wendy’s entertaining and interactive musical program inspires children to move, create and listen. Every child at the show gets an opportunity to dance, jump, move and be a part of the concert. Wendy is a Minnesota-based children’s entertainer who has performed at Taste of Minnesota, Minnesota Children’s Museum, fairs, festivals and more. Her concert is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. The attendance limit is 30 and advanced registration is required. 320-253-9359.
School supplies sought by Aug. 17
The school year is right around the corner and many local children are in need of supplies. Please donate school supplies to the following agencies by Aug. 17 for distribution prior to the start of the school year. Supplies needed include: backpacks, dry erase and washable markers, colored pencils, Fiskars scissors, rulers, erasers, glue, scientific calculators, head phones for computer lab, flash drives, pens and pencils. Basil the Therapy Dog visit Aug. 10 at library
Basil the Therapy Dog will be looking for children, ages 5 to 10, to read to her from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Al Ringsmuth Public Library, 253 5th Ave. N., Waite Park. Each child spends 15 minutes reading a favorite story or two. Call 320-253-9359 or stop by the library to register. The limit is four.
