July 11
10:30 p.m. Suspicious activity. 21 Court 120. Officers responded to Walmart for a suspicious activity call. The caller reported a group of teenagers were running around the parking lot telling people to put their hands up or that they had a gun. The caller said one of the suspects had what looked like a nerf gun. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone or see anything suspicious. Officers talked with the store manager who reported they also had not seen any suspicious activity.
July 12
7:55 p.m. Fight. 7 Riverside Ave. N. Officers were dispatched to a fight between a group of juveniles at Watab Park. Those involved told police the incident sparked from an issue between two people. As the two groups met words were exchanged and things got physical, resulting in one of the juveniles pulling out a knife. Officers arrived and de-escalated the scene. The case has been sent to the Stearns County Attorney’s office for potential charges.
July 13
1:26 p.m. Dog complaint. 2 ½ Street N. A caller reported their neighbor’s dogs had been barking for over an hour. Officers arrived on scene to find two small dogs fenced in near the front door, but they were not barking. Officers spoke to the owner who was advised about the complaint. The owner stated they were on a phone call and would bring the dogs inside once the call was completed. Officers later drove by the residence and saw the dogs had been let back in.
July 14
1:14 p.m. Traffic stop. Pinecone Road. While on patrol, officers noticed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit on Pinecone Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and issued a verbal warning to the driver for speeding.
July 15
3:15 p.m. Crash. Court 120/Court 1. Officers were dispatched for a two-vehicle crash. Two vehicles were inside the roundabout, when the vehicle in the outside lane continued past the first turn and struck the second vehicle attempting to exit the roundabout. No one was hurt, however there was some damage done to the front driver’s side of the vehicle in the outside lane.
July 16
9:30 p.m. Traffic stop. Pinecone Road. An officer was parked at the police station working on reports when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot after hours. The officer ran the vehicle’s plate and learned the driver had a suspended license. The vehicle then took off on Pinecone Road, at which time a traffic stop was made. The driver told the officer they were unaware of their driving status. The driver was issued a citation and waited for a ride to pick them up.
July 17
2:31 a.m. Verbal dispute. Hi Vue Drive. Officers were dispatched for a verbal argument heard outside. The caller stated they could hear voices but were unable to see anyone outside. Officers checked the area and found it all to be quiet. No one was found outside arguing while officers were on scene.
July 18
3:13 p.m. Suspicious activity. Seventh Street S. A caller stated they were out of town and got an alert on their Ring camera. They stated there was someone in their yard they didn’t recognize looking for something. Officers arrived to find the yard had been flagged for underground utilities for construction in the area. The officer called the homeowner back and let them know everything was fine.
July 19
11:11 p.m. Suspicious activity. 12th Street N. While on patrol, officers saw several cars and people in Northside Park after hours. The group said they had just got done with baseball and were hanging out. Officers reminded them about the city’s park hours and all parties were sent on their way.
July 20
3:27 p.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue N. Officers observed a vehicle going above the posted speed limit. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver. The driver admitted they did not have insurance coverage yet as they had recently bought the vehicle. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
July 21
6:45 p.m. Medical. Central Park Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to a medical at Pinecone Central Park. Officers were notified a juvenile was suffering from an allergic reaction to peanuts from a granola bar they had just eaten. Officers provided aid until Mayo arrived and transported the juvenile to the hospital.
July 22
12:27 p.m. Theft. Grizzly Lane. Officers were dispatched to the area for a vehicle theft complaint. The victim told officers they had cash, credit cards and driver’s license taken from his vehicles sometime overnight. The victim stated the suspect also attempted to use his credit cards to make online purchases but were declined. The incident was caught on the victim’s video camera and sent to the officer for review. This was one of two incidents in the neighborhood regarding overnight vehicle tampering.
July 23
11:49 p.m. Info. Pheasant Crest Loop. The complainant called police stating they were receiving threats over Xbox. The caller stated they had joined a party online and were receiving threats from the gamers stating they would find where he lives and hurt his daughter. The caller stated they are familiar with these types of activities on Xbox but didn’t like the comments about his children. He stated he wanted it documented in the event things were to escalate.
July 24
11:20 a.m. Theft. Fifth Avenue N. A caller reported they were out of town for the weekend and when they returned, their daughter’s bike was missing from the garage. The caller did not know an exact time the bike would have been taken, or who may have taken it. Sartell officers have responded to several theft reports during the past several days.
