St. Cloud Park & Rec hosts Movie Under the Stars Aug. 6
A Movie Under the Stars, featuring “The Rookie,” the 2002 baseball G-rated hit starring Dennis Quaid, will be shown Saturday, Aug. 6 at Whitney Sports Complex Field C-3, 1529 Northway Drive, St. Cloud. The event, sponsored by St. Cloud Park and Recreation, is free. Participants are encouraged to bring family, friends, a blanket and/or lawn chairs. Lawn games, inflatables, prizes and giveaways start at 7:30 p.m.; movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Concessions available. School supplies needed
United Way is collecting school supplies for students this fall. There are multiple ways for you to help fulfill the need. Run a school supply drive, donate school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, glue, rulers, markers and more, purchase school kits through our partnership with Impacks or make an online donation to be used to purchase bulk school supplies. United Way community closet
Keshia’s Closet is a free, volunteer run, supply closet filled with clothing and other essentials. Our biggest needs are boys clothing (T-shirts, jeans, shorts and sweat shirts), new socks and underwear (all sizes), tampons, pads and deodorant. Volunteer with Central MN Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers are needed at Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity to help with its Tiger 6 Build located in St. Cloud. Volunteers are needed the last week of October & all throughout November. No experience necessary. Shifts include 8 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
