The telephone system at Sartell City Hall has been working erratically for the past two months, making communications with many residents difficult if not nearly impossible.
City Administrator Anna Gruber addressed that problem at the March 14 city-council meeting.
She called the ongoing problem “beyond frustrating.” Recently, a major piece of equipment was replaced, and the Marco phone-system company is continuing to try to fix the problem, which might be caused by some kind of outdated equipment.
Gruber said until the problem is fixed for good, residents should email city hall at info@sartellmn.com and leave a message. City staff all have cell phones and can and do reply to residents’ online questions and concerns.
Meanwhile, there is an online computer screen system set up in city hall’s lobby, making it much easier this year to apply for and receive permits to use the city’s compost site, Gruber noted.
