Nikki Sweeter, the engagement director for Sartell, recently announced what she called “great news” – new hours and an automatic gate entrance to the Sartell compost site.
The site will open on Saturday, April 22 (weather permitting).
Compost permits are now available for purchase online only. A permit costs $30 for a Sartell resident and $70 for residents of LeSauk Township and St. Cloud.
The new, extended hours at the compost site are from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. every day of the week this spring and summer. This fall it will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.
The new feature this year is the entry gate at the compost site. A motorist delivering materials to drop off at the site will just show the QR code on the compost permit to a scanning device on the gate, which will then automatically open. Thanks to that new gate, it allows the site to be open for extended hours every day for disposal of yard waste.
To order a compost permit online, go to https://lf.sartellmn.com/Forms/CompostApplication.
After applying on that link, you will be sent a payment link via email and then follow instructions to pay for the permit. After paying, you will be sent the permit via email. Reminder: Please check your junk folder if you do not see an email with the payment link or the permit.
