Bobby Vee and his band the Shadows will be featured on Pioneer Public Television’s weekly program Postcards at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 13.
“We’re excited to be able to bring you an exclusive look inside Rockhouse Productions in St. Joseph, Minn., where we had the opportunity to “jam out” with Bobby Vee’s sons. They tell us about growing up with a music legend father and how they’ve incorporated music into their daily lives,” said Dana Johnson, executive producer.
Postcards will tour Bobby Vee’s studio and meet some of the original members of the band, The Shadows, the same band that filled in for Buddy Holly when his plane tragically crashed. Take an exclusive peak at the tribute show called “The Night the Music Died” as the show relives the magic of Buddy Holly’s Winter Dance Party Tour.
“We were fortunate to be able to meet with some of the members of Bobby Vee and the Shadows as they performed a tribute show and remembered the music from their past,” Johnson said.
Postcards airs 7 p.m. Sundays, 1:30 p.m. Mondays and 7 p.m. Thursdays or watch it online at Pioneer onDemand at video.pioneer.org or www.youtube.org/pioneerpublic. For more information, visit www.pioneer.org/postcards.
