Two people were arrested Oct. 4 after officers from the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force searched a Sartell residence and founds drugs and a handgun.

The search took place in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue N. Officers arrested Daniell Marie Dvorsak, 37 of Sartell and John Diaz Martinez, 45 of St. Paul. During the search they found approximately one pound of methamphetamine, according to a task force report.

Dvorsak could be charged with first-degree sales and first-degree possession of controlled substances along with ineligible person in possession of a firearm. Martinez could be charged with first-degree possession of controlled substance and ineligible person in possession of firearm. Both individuals were transported to Stearns County Jail.

Officers started an investigation several weeks ago after they learned Dvorsak and Martinez were distributing methamphetamine throughout Central Minnesota, according to a report from the task force. Investigators purchased methamphetamine from Dvorsak during the investigation.

Because there’s a school nearby, school officials were notified and the school was put into containment until the search warrant was executed and all suspects were in custody.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the St. Cloud Swat Team, the Sartell Police Department and the Avon k-9 unit.

The task force is comprised of Investigators from St. Cloud and Sartell police departments and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison county sheriff offices.
