Thomas Raden, of Sartell, participated in NCAA Division II men’s golf for Bemidji State University during the 2020-21 season. He is a junior majoring in project management.
Four Sartell students recently graduated Dec. 12 during virtual commencement from Minnesota State University-Mankato. Mckenna Hupf, bachelor’s degree in sociology; Bailey Mumm, bachelor’s degree in nursing, magna cum laude; Virginia Pilles, bachelor’s degree in applied organizational studies, magna cum laude and Kelsi Rostis, bachelor’s degree in accounting, magna cum laude.
Taylor Buske was among 2,001 students who earned degrees from Iowa State University. The graduates were recognized in a virtual ceremony. Buske earned a Bachelor of Science in statistics, Magna Cum Laude.
Two Sartell students recently graduated during virtual commencement Dec. 17 and 18 from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. They and their degrees are Mikayla Gessell, bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and Kristina Kirick, bachelor’s degree in finance.
Kaitlyn Widvey of Sartell was among 1,382 graduates who received degrees Dec. 19 during a virtual graduation ceremony from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Widvey earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Five Sartell students were recently awarded with scholarships totaling more than $1.3 million for the 2020-2021 academic year from St. Cloud State University. They are the following: Anna Lehto was awarded the Charles and Ellora Alliss Scholarship, SCSU Scholarship, the James O’Neill Scholarship for International Study of Spanish, and the Charles and Bonnie Graham Scholarship for International Study. Bryan Mayotte was awarded the Dorothy Barker Scholarship. Taylor Pearson was awarded the Philip Halenbeck Scholarship. Darrien Prow was awarded the SME Minnesota Chapter Scholarship. Rachel Taszarek was awarded the Charles and Ellora Alliss Scholarship.
Chloe Swanson, Sartell, will join the Winona State Warriors Soccer team. At Sartell, Swanson served as the Sabres starting goalkeeper. Last season, Swanson earned First-Team All-State honors, recording eight shutouts and a 0.78 goals against average. She was named to the St. Cloud All-Metro girls’ soccer team, as well as the Central Lakes All-Conference squad twice in her high school career. This past fall, Swanson and Sartell downed Bemidji on penalty kicks to conclude their 2020 season as MSHSL Section 8A champions. The Warrior head coach Matt Kellogg said, “Chloe is a fearless goalie and does a great job going into crowds. She is also a great basketball player so she has soft hands and holds onto shots very well. Chloe is also very comfortable using her feet so we are going to be able to use her to keep possession and build out of our own end with. She will really help strengthen our GK position.”
Morgan Vosberg, Sartell, will join the North Dakota State College of Science volleyball team. She is three-time All-Conference with 2,699 career assists. NDSCS head volleyball coach Jane Passa said, “Morgan is a setter with great experience leading her team to tremendous seasons the past few years. She is steady in her role as a setter.”
