seeks donations
Catholic Charities Emergency Services, in cooperation with the U.S. Marine Corps League, Valhalla Detachment, sponsors the St. Cloud Area Toys for Tots program. Their mission is to ensure no child goes without a gift during the holiday season. Each year, they collect and purchase new toys for distribution to children, ages 6 months to 14 years, to registered families. Last year, their program distributed toys to nearly 1,500 children. Snow removal
Assumption Community Faith In Action serves communities by making connections between those who need some assistance and those who are able to provide the services. Volunteers assist individuals 60 and older with a wide variety of activities from transportation to homemaking. Volunteers are needed to help with snow removal. The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to get involved with the the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. Register to Ring will help you find the perfect time and place to ring bells. Suicide prevention offers text messaging helpline
The National Alliance on Mental Illness recently launched a nationwide SMS/text message support option. Young people experiencing a crisis prefer texting. 62640 connects to the NAMI Helpline and is available to all. Text “HELPLINE” TO 62640 for mental health support between 9 a.m.–9 p.m. CST Monday-Friday. This free, peer-support service provides information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.
Salvation Army seeks holiday donations
Donations are needed for the holidays. The Salvation Army is asking for donations of clothing (all sizes), toys (especially for children age 10-14) and gift cards. Donations can be dropped off at 400 U.S Hwy. 10 S., St. Cloud. They are also in need of volunteer bell ringers.
