Stearns Bank N.A. in partnership with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation is excited to announce the Stearns Bank Community Challenge. Stearns Bank is offering up to $100,000 as a match for every dollar donated to three area food shelves this holiday season. Donations for the Stearns Bank Community Challenge need to be received by Dec. 31. Contributions should be sent directly to any of the following eligible food shelves to the attention of the “Stearns Bank Community Challenge.”

St. John’s Prep students grades six through 12, faculty and staff collected $2,637 in cash/check donations and 425 pounds of food to the St. Joseph Community Food Shelf. Prep students brought in non-perishable food items. The money was used to purchase turkeys, pies, buns and other perishable items. Sarah Gainey’s sixth-grade homeroom was declared the winning class based on the amount of food (104.8 pounds) and the amount of money ($185) they collected.
Three St. John’s Prep School swimmers recently qualified at the Minnesota State High School League state meet. Here are their events:
- 200 IM: Izzy Westling (finished 10th in state)
- 500 Free: Claire Westling (finished 13th in state)
- 100 Backstork: Taba Kuhl (finished 12th in state)
- 400 Free Relay: Claire Westling and Izzy Westling (finished 16th in state)
Izzy, a freshman, and Claire, a junior, are the daughters of Sue and Craig Westling; Kuhl, a sophomore, is the daughter of Traese and Mitchell Kuhl. All are from Sartell.
St. John’s Prep swimmers and divers are part of a co-op team with Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. Their home pool is the St. John’s University pool.
St. Cloud Orthopedics has recently received nine awards on the local, state and national levels based on community satisfaction, patient recognition and research. The private, independent specialty orthopedic practice, which has been in service locally for nearly 70 years, has recently accepted these 2022 awards:
