Increasing student enrollments mean more assistant principals.
In the next year at Sartell schools, there will be four new assistant principals – two at Sartell Middle School and two at Sartell High School.
There are no assistant principals at Sartell’s two elementary schools.
The school board recently approved hiring Zachary Dingmann and Michelle Raml as assistant principals at SMS. Dingmann is now assistant principal at Prairie Elementary School in the Worthington School District. He has also served as a teacher in that school district and in the Clark County, Nevada School District.
Raml has been a middle-school teacher for 12 years in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District. In addition, for the past three years, she was an English language-arts-content specialist for the district.
Brian Baloun and Sara Gabrielson are the new assistant principals for Sartell High School. Currently, Baloun is the assistant principal at Apollo High School in St. Cloud. He was also principal for the St. Cloud School District’s Area Learning Center and served as a special-assignment teacher to help staff work with struggling learners.
Gabrielson is now an instructional-and-data coach for the New Ulm School District. She has been a social-studies instructor at both the Sibley East School District and the Eastern Carver County School District.
“With the continued enrollment increases in our district, we needed to provide more support for our staff and students,” Sartell-St. Stephen Superintendent Jeff Schwiebert stated in a press release. “Through these additions, I am confident we will have an even stronger system in place to support the high-quality teaching and learning that happens with our students in the classroom and throughout their school-related experiences. We had an excellent pool of candidates from which to choose. These individuals will be excellent additions to the administrative team and our district.”
