Feb. 16 St. Joseph police blotter

Sept. 18

12:53 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. First Avenue NE. While on patrol, officer saw a parked vehicle at the Wobegon trailhead. Driver told officer he was trying to sleep. Officer advised driver that park was closed and suggested park and ride. Officer escorted driver to park and ride. Driver said he didn’t know where he was going but needed to sleep and then would leave.

1:36 p.m. Road hazard. CR 75/20th Avenue SE. Complainant alerted police to a lot of medium sized rock in the intersection. Officer located a bunch of landscape rock that was scattered in the middle of the intersection. Officer then located a truck at Kwik Trip that appeared to be carrying the same rock. Officer spoke to the truck driver who had turned left off of CR 75 and onto 20th Avenue SE. The driver stated the rear door of his dump bed popped open spilling rock in the intersection and into the Kwik Trip parking lot. The driver cleaned up the spilled rock at Kwik Trip. Officer told the driver he would contact Stearns County Highway Department about the intersection due to it being too busy and dangerous for driver to go out and clean it up. Officer gathered driver’s info and contacted county.

10:02 p.m. Expired tabs. CR 2/Minnesota Street W. While on patrol, an officer ran a vehicle registration on a vehicle in front of patrol. Report came back as expired tabs. Officer activated emergency lights and stopped vehicle. Driver was told his tabs expired in August. Driver gave officer new address. Officer issued citation.

Sept. 19

11:51 a.m. Vehicle tampering. Ninth Avenue SE. Complainant said she was last at her vehicle at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 after coming home from the dog park and that she accidentally left her vehicle unlocked. The complainant said she went back to her vehicle this morning and noticed it had been gone through but nothing appeared missing. She said there were papers in her center counsel that were now thrown on her passenger seat. Nothing was stolen, no damage occurred, no video and no known suspects.

2:08 p.m. Verbal. Fifth Avenue NW. Verbal. Officers were dispatched to a verbal. Complainant said her boyfriend was out of control and throwing her clothes outside after she said she was moving out. I arrived on scene and spoke to the boyfriend while two other officers spoke to the complainant. Both said it was verbal only. Boyfriend stated everything was fine until the complainant wanted to move away. Boyfriend stated he became upset and made a bad decision. No threats made, nothing physical occurred and no property was damaged. Both parties said they were fine staying with each other and said everything would be fine. The boyfriend picked up the clothes that were scattered outside.

Sept. 20

6:18 p.m. Abandoned vehicle. CR 121/CR 138. While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle parked on the side of road on CR 121. The vehicle had a broken tail light and a heavily damaged windshield. Officer checked the vehicle and area and was unable to locate anyone.

6:58 p.m. Found property. Seventh Avenue SE. Officer met with caller who said he found an ipad on Seventh Avenue SE near Minnesota Street E. The ipad has a black otterbox case and no serial number is seen. The ipad will be placed into evidence for safe keeping.

Sept. 21

2:53 a.m. Stalled vehicle. CR 121/CR 138. While on patrol officer found a stalled vehicle on CR 121 and CR 138 in Waite Park. Vehicle had a flat driver’s side front tire and was unoccupied. Not a hazard.
