Viking Land Harley-Davidson of Sauk Rapids and Baxter was awarded with the Harley-Davidson Motor Co. prestigious Gold Bar and Shield Circle of Excellence Award for the 2015 calendar year. This award is presented to the top U.S. Harley-Davidson dealerships within their classification and sales market. Viking Land Harley-Davidson earned the award for the Plains market based on their motorcycle and related-product-sales performance, an evaluation of customer service and satisfaction, and various operational measures.
“We’re really proud to have Dan Walton as a part of the Harley-Davidson family and want to thank the entire dealership team for all they do in fulfilling the dreams of personal freedom for our customers,” said Christian Walters, Harley-Davidson’s managing director for the United States. “One of the primary reasons the Harley-Davidson brand has such tremendous customer loyalty is because of the efforts of dealers such as Dan Walton,” said Mike Kennedy, vice president and managing director for the Americas.
Viking Land Harley-Davidson has been in business since 2011.
Seven Sauk Rapids-Rice students are part of the St. Cloud YMCA Gator Swim team, which competed Feb. 14 at the YMCA State Meet at the University of Minnesota. The Gators brought home the high-points-per-capita trophy…again! It’s the fourth time in five years. What that means is our 23 swimmers earned more points per kid than any other team there. The gators were the fourth-smallest team in the meet with 23 swimmers attending, and we took fourth place overall out of 18 teams, many of them had more than 100 swimmers on their team. As a side note, Micah broke the YMCA State Meet record in all three of his individual events.
They are the following: Micah Davis, 8, earned state champ and new state-meet recordholder for the boys 8-and-under 25 fly, 50 free and 100 IM and state champ for the boys 8-and-under 100-free relay and seventh place for the boys 12-and-under in the 200-medley relay; Simon Davis, 11, placed third in 100 IM and 50 breast, fourth in 500 free, second boys 12-and-under 200-free relay and third in boys 12-and-under 400-free relay; Dominic Kremer, 8, earned state champ for boys 8-and-under 100-free relay and placed sixth in 25-fly, seventh in 100 IM, 10th in 25 breast and sixth in boys 8-and-under 100-medley relay; Ethan Moriak, 12, placed fifth in 200 free, sixth in 500 free, second in boys 12-and-under 200-free relay and third in boys 12-and-under 400-free relay; Cash Walz, 8, earned state champ in boys 8 and under, 25 back and 100-free relay and sixth in 100 IM, eighth in 25 breast and sixth in 100-medley relay; Hayden Zabinski, 9, placed seventh in 50 fly, ninth in 100 free, 10th in 50 back and seventh in boys 12-and-under 200-medley relay; and Lydia Zabinski, 11, placed fifth in 200 fly, 11th in 500 free, fifth in girls 12-and-under 200-medley relay and ninth in girls 12-and-under 400-free relay.
