On Feb. 5, at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a possible building fire at Centre Pallet and Lumber located at 37622 395th Avenue in Getty Township south of Sauk Centre.
The caller Alan Lawinger, 57, of Sauk Centre, reported there was smoke coming out of the boiler room attached to a 50×120-foot building. There had been recent electrical issues, and it was believed the insulation had started on fire.
The Sauk Centre Fire Department along with Melrose Fire Department, Elrosa Fire Department and Sauk Centre Ambulance responded to the fire. There were no injuries, and the fire was contained to the boiler room of the building.
