A mobile home near Rice was declared a total loss after firefighters doused its flames Feb. 21.
Nobody was injured due to the fire.
Owned by James Lent, the home was located east of Rice along 55th Ave. NE. The fire was called into the fire department at 5:06 p.m. According to fire officials, the fire began when Lent was using some kind of liquid fuel to start his wood stove.
Both the Rice and Foley fire departments responded to the fire, and stayed at the scene for nearly three hours to make sure the fire was completely extinguished and would not re-ignite.
