Once again, the Sartell High School Student Council will host a community fundraiser called “Fun Fest” to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The event will take place in the high school and on its grounds from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and all are welcome. The Fun Fest is an annual tradition that has been held for at least a decade.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children facing life challenges such as progressive, degenerative or malignant medical conditions. One of the typical wishes granted is a free trip to Disney World for the child and family.
Bennett Prose, a senior student council member and one of the organizers of the annual event, gave details during an interview with the Newsleaders.
“Make-A-Wish (Foundation) has always been involved in the Sartell community,” he Prose said. “It’s a tradition for us to give back to them and to help them continue the great work they do.”
At the April 20 Fun Fest, there will be carnival-type games and activities for younger children, such as face-painting, bouncy houses and many other fun things to do, including playing golf on a mini-golf course. Each activity costs only a quarter to play.
There will also be a silent auction for items provided by local businesses.
Last year, $5,400 was raised at Fun Fest, and all of that money was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
