Sartell
My son, Lyzander, recently was recognized as a National Merit semi-finalist. I want to thank his teachers and School District 748 for their significant contributions to his achievement.
In 2018, we moved to Sartell from a much smaller district, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the education our sons are receiving here. Lyzander was a sixth-grader coming from an elementary school setting so we were concerned he might feel lost, one of many faces in the halls. His experience at SMS couldn’t have been further from that.
Lyzander’s student advisory teacher connected him to students in his classes and made sure he had a group to eat lunch with. Staff checked in with him. It wasn’t long before his teachers were inspiring him in science, art, theater and more.
From middle to high school, Lyzander has found his place as a student and school community member. He’s received a high-quality public-school education, able to take a wide range of advanced-placement and College-in-the-Schools courses alongside high-interest classes of his choosing. Teachers have been supportive, caring and held high expectations throughout. Additionally, the topnotch music program has allowed Lyzander to participate in choir, band and marching band since middle school. The phenomenal concerts demonstrate the hard work and dedication of the music department at every level.
So, thank you to all Lyzander’s teachers, the support staff and administration for making his experience so positive, and for setting him up for success as he pursues the sciences.
