Hansen & Company Woodworks in St. Joseph is celebrating its 20th anniversary by building a $20 million expansion project in the city.
Ground was recently broken for the 92,000 square-foot facility at 2040 Jasmine Court, St. Joseph. The new building should be open by December of next year.
Currently, H&CW is located in St. Joseph at 30701 Pearl Drive.
H&CW is a high-tech manufacturer of primarily customized large-volume cabinets and architectural millworks for the commercial-construction industry.
The new facility will allow H&CW to increase its output by 400 percent – from 150 cabinets per day now to up to 500 or more per day in the new building.
Adam Hansen is the president and founder of the company.
“We’re proud to continue our legacy in St. Joseph where we’ve been rooted for 19 of our 20 years,” Hansen said. “The company expresses profound gratitude for the unwavering support and enthusiasm from Mayor Rick Schultz, David Murphy (city administrator), Nate Keller (community-development director), the St. Joseph City Council and Bremer Bank.”
Thanks to those collective efforts, Hansen noted, that greatly contributed to the company’s decision to stay and to expand in St. Joseph.
