In 2020, first-time home buyers accessed more than $1,770,000 in total funds from the “Minnesota City Participation Program,” which is administered via the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.
The Sartell City Council, at its Jan. 25 meeting, renewed its permission for the program to continue in the city this year. There is no charge to the city.
The participation program makes funds (grants and/or deferred loans) available to first-time homebuyers to help them with down payments and closing costs.
The program is open to residents who make less than 80 percent of the median income in an area. For the Sartell area, that median amount is currently $82,700.
