No one was injured but house was deemed a total loss after a residential fire broke out Nov. 15 in Paynesville.
At approximately 6:12 a.m. Nov. 15, the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a house on fire. The Paynesville Fire Department and Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to find the house on fire with heavy smoke and flames. The homeowner Ronald Lahr, 67, was not home at the time of the fire.
The Stearns County Criminal Investigations Division along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the cause/manner of the fire. The preliminary investigation determined the fire had started in the kitchen due to an electrical malfunction with an appliance. The house was considered a total loss. No one was injured in the fire.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Paynesville Fire Department, CentraCare Ambulance and the State Fire Marshal.
