KofC free-throw contest set Saturday, Jan. 21
A free-throw competition for children ages 9-14 will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at St. Francis Xavier School gymnasium, 219 Second St. N., Sartell. All St. Joseph students are also welcome as St. Joseph Knights of Columbus will not be holding its contest this year. This annual event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Trobec Council #5276, serving the Sartell and St. Stephen communities. All contestants from the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Winners at each level receive a trophy. This year, all participants will receive a Gatorade and will be entered into a drawing to win one of four $25 gift certificates to Clutch Take and Bake Pizza. (Limit one per family). Participants register at the event and must have written consent and age verification from a parent or guardian. Sartell Farmers’ Market open this Saturday
The Sartell Farmers’ Market is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 inside Sartell’s Community Center. Some of the great items you will find are the following: eggs, meat, squash, potatoes, honey, canned goods, homemade breads, cookies, caramel corn, barbecue sauces, handmade jewelry and much more.

Snowshoeing Club begins Jan. 14
St. Joseph Park and Rec will start its snowshoeing club at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. The group will meet at Klinefelter Park to do some snowshoeing, have a snack and discuss other parks we can go to each week. All levels are welcome. This event is free. Join us for some outdoor fun!
Readers for the blind
Looking for an opportunity to help the blind or print-disabled receive local news? Become a volunteer with Central Minnesota Audio Newspapers and read newspapers over a closed radio network that is part of the Radio Talking Book Network. Read one or two evenings a month. Drivers needed to deliver Meals on Wheels
Become a Meals on Wheels driver! Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is in great need of drivers in the St. Cloud area. Meals are picked up a Whitney Senior Center and drivers deliver 8-12 meals on average. Volunteers practice non-contact delivery and deliver each week a week’s worth of meals to each senior. Meals are delivered Mondays and Wednesdays with a pick-up time between 10:30-11:45 am.
