Thank you to everyone who continues to sew masks to help keep our community safe! Make and donate cloth masks for youth and adult members to keep our community safe. Completed masks can be dropped off at Coborn’s, 900 Cooper Ave. S., St. Cloud, behind the service counter during store hours. Tri-CAP in need of donated vehicles
Tri-CAP accepts donated vehicles, works with local repair shops to make them safe, and then they sell them to income qualified residents in Stearns, Benton, or Sherburne Counties. All proceeds from the program support future vehicle repairs and the programs operation. Tri-CAP is a licensed dealership with the state of MN, to best protect the donors and clients we they work with! If a vehicle is sold to a client in need at the discounted price, the full fair market value may be used as a tax deduction (please review with a tax professional). BBBS seeks mentors
Children are needing mentorship now more than ever! Big Brothers Big Sisters offers virtual matching – you can attend an Info Session, be interviewed and meet your Little through Zoom! This is a one-on-one volunteer opportunity to provide friendship and guidance to a child in Central MN. The volunteer will meet with their Little 3 – 4 times a month for 12 months. Sexual assault advocate
Advocates are needed for Central MN Sexual Assault Center. Their required 40+ hour training as been converted to an online format to increase flexibility for those looking to volunteer. Topics converted in the training include the spectrum of sexual violence, trauma, trafficking/exploitation, advocacy skills, and more! 10 online training modules begin February 2, 2021 with additional starting dates. Volunteers must live within their service area of Benton, Stearns, Sherburne, or wright counties. Fill out an application on their website. www.cmsac.org/trainings-education/. Volunteer readers for the blind
The Central Minnesota Audio Newspapers is looking for volunteers to read area newspapers each day. This is a resource for the blind and print disabled. Volunteers can read as frequently as they wish, once a month, every week or whatever works in their schedule. The time commitment is up to two hours between the hours 4PM-8PM. Cook a meal for victims of domestic abuse
Anna Marie’s Alliance works to provide a safe place for victims of domestic abuse and to achieve systems change that reduces violence. They are looking for weekend cooks! This position serves to prepare meals for, and interact with women and children residing at Anna Marie’s shelter. This allows their advocates to better assist those experiencing domestic violence within the shelter and their community. Shift times are 9:30am-12:30pm and 3:00-6:00pm.
