Rick Schultz
St. Joseph Mayor
Our inaugural season of a city-sponsored event – Joetown Blocks – seemed to be a rousing success. The dunk tank, special cars and tractors, local food, music, kids’ activities and beer garden all combined to ensure those who attended had a good time.
My thanks go out to all the local businesses and organizations that participated. Without your presence, it does not come across as a community event.
Hats off to the St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau for working through all the special details and planning that this event needed.
Thanks to city staff for help to coordinate it. Moving garbage cans, picnic tables, barricades helped make Joetown Blocks a success.
A special thanks to Ann Reisner and Mary Bruno who both worked so very hard putting this all together. They led the charge and guaranteed every piece was in place. All the volunteers understood their duties and stayed until the end.
As mayor, I am awe-struck and proud of our community, its businesses, people and demeanor. It was an enjoyable day, and I hope everyone had a pleasant time.
