Volunteer as family advocate
Looking for a rewarding opportunity where your time and energy can make a difference for children and families?
Consider becoming a volunteer for the St. Cloud Area Crisis Nursery, a program of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. This family-focused service provides free, 24-hour hotline support to parents dealing with personal stress or crises, such as an illness, housing problems, divorce or separation, financial strains or other issues.
The Crisis Nursery needs volunteers like you to counsel and support families who call the hotline from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends. This opportunity allows you to determine your availability and dedicate as many hours as your schedule allows.
As a volunteer, you will answer the hotline from the comfort of your home. You will attend a two-hour orientation training with the facilitator and receive all the information you need to help families. The Crisis Nursery asks volunteers be friendly, personable, professional and able to work under stressful situations.
Volunteering with the St. Cloud Area Crisis Nursery is an extremely rewarding opportunity that directly supports families in your community. For more information, contact Conni Orth at 320.654.1090 or email conni.orth@lssmn.org.
