June 18
12:45 p.m. Fraud. Officers were notified of a fraud complaint. The victim stated they had their vehicle broken into earlier in the month and had their purse stolen. The victim stated they were notified by the bank that someone cashed out two large checks using the victim’s driver’s license. The total amount was over $5,000.
June 20
4:13 p.m. Animal complaint. Sierra Court. Officers responded to an animal complaint. The caller stated they were walking their dog on the paths behind city hall, when another dog came out of nowhere and started attacking her dog. The caller believed her dog was OK, but it did bite the ear of the other dog. Officers met with the other dog’s owner and talked about the situation. Both dogs were up to date with their vaccinations, and nothing further was needed from officers.
June 22
11:11 p.m. Verbal dispute. 10th Street N. Officers were dispatched for a verbal between a mother and son. Officer’s learned the son had brought home a new puppy today and it would not stop barking and whining. The mother made a comment that she was going to kill the dog and the son was concerned. Officers spoke with the mother who stated the comments were made in the heat of the moment and she wouldn’t act upon them. All parties agreed to stay separated for the evening
June 27
9:33 p.m. Traffic stop. Second Street S. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle driving with no headlights on. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who stated it wasn’t their car and they were not sure how to properly turn on the headlights. While running the driver’s license, the officer learned they had a suspended status. The officer issued a citation for driving after suspension.
June 30
2:35 p.m. Burning complaint. Victory Avenue. Officers were called to a burning complaint. Officers arrived on scene and saw the fire going. The homeowner was outside with a hose monitoring the fire, which was not that large, just smoky due to burning brush material.
