Regarding the opinion piece “Louisiana school law violates constitution, values” in the July 5 Newsleaders, I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you really have not studied the U.S. Constitution thoroughly (“law respecting an establishment of religion”). This means we don’t want a national religion like we left Great Britain to get away from.
However, our constitution guarantees your right to practice any religion in this country as long as you don’t infringe on your neighbors’ right to practice his religion.
You know where you get that right? You get that right from a constitution that is written by men who believed all rights come from God. Without that belief, you would have no right to practice anything other than state authorized, as in England (state church).
That is totally why the 10 Commandments belong in every school. Man’s inalienable rights come from God, taught via the 10 Commandments.
If you start pushing Sharia law as the law in this country, be ready to pack your bags because you are breaking our law.
