Meeting set concerning new roundabout

Stearns County is planning to reconstruct/reconfigure the round- about located at the intersection of County Roads 1 and 120 in 2024. As part of the same construction contract, CR 120 will be resurfaced between Hwy. 15 and the afore- mentioned roundabout. The coun- ty will host a public open house to present the proposed changes, as well as the traffic control that will be used during the construction process. The event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at the Stearns County Public Works building, located at 455 28th Ave. S. in Waite Park.

The meeting will have an open- house format to obtain comments and concerns from individuals and property owners. A brief presenta- tion will be made at 5 p.m.

Stearns County is partnering with Stonebrooke Engineering Inc. of Burnsville on the project de- sign. People unable to attend this meeting may express their com- ments and concerns by contacting Jodi Teich at Stearns County High- way Department, P.O. Box 246, St. Cloud, MN 56302; or by telephone at 320-255-6180; or email her at highway@stearnscountymn.gov.

Lions’ brat sales continue

The St. Joseph Lions Club will continue hosting its “Brat Sale” throughout the summer and well into autumn at the St. Joseph Meat Market, located at 26 First Ave. NW.

The sales offer brats, hot dogs and roast-beef sandwiches. All pro- ceeds from the sales will benefit endeavors by the Lions Club.

The following are the dates of the sale: July 14-15, Aug. 11-12, Sept. 8-9 and Oct. 13-14.

Please water only on odd-even days

The City of Sartell is reminding residents – individuals and busi- nesses – to adhere to the odd-even number watering restrictions im- posed by city ordinance because of drought conditions.

The odd-even number water- ing restriction means if you live on, say, 125 Sample Street (the last number 5 being the “odd” number) you should water only on odd-numbered calendar days (for example July 7, July 9). And vice versa, if your street address happens to be, say, 126 Sample Street (6 being an even number), water only on even-numbered cal- endar days, such as July 8 or July 10.

The city is also requesting res- idents to refrain, whenever possi- ble, from washing vehicles.

Watering should be done be- fore 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m. Other recommendations are to adjust one’s lawn-mower blade height to a higher setting and to inspect one’s irrigation system for any leaks.

Because of ongoing dry con- ditions in central Minnesota – and elsewhere – the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources might well impose further restric- tions in the near future.
