Please water only on odd-even days
The City of Sartell is reminding residents – individuals and busi- nesses – to adhere to the odd-even number watering restrictions im- posed by city ordinance because of drought conditions.
The odd-even number water- ing restriction means if you live on, say, 125 Sample Street (the last number 5 being the “odd” number) you should water only on odd-numbered calendar days (for example July 7, July 9). And vice versa, if your street address happens to be, say, 126 Sample Street (6 being an even number), water only on even-numbered cal- endar days, such as July 8 or July 10.
The city is also requesting res- idents to refrain, whenever possi- ble, from washing vehicles.
Watering should be done be- fore 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m. Other recommendations are to adjust one’s lawn-mower blade height to a higher setting and to inspect one’s irrigation system for any leaks.
Because of ongoing dry con- ditions in central Minnesota – and elsewhere – the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources might well impose further restric- tions in the near future.
