Steve Skoe, Sartell
The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board needs our help. There is a great deal of animosity building in the community due to a perceived lack of transparency in board actions during the last year. This needs to stop. We chose Sartell as our home in central Minnesota because of the fine school district.
For 10 years we didn’t need to worry about the activities of the school board. If we were asked to donate more to the school in terms of taxes, we automatically voted to raise the money. The current board’s apparent unresponsiveness to constituent input has changed that automatic response. In the future, it will be much more difficult to pass levies or referendums.
Michelle has eight years of school-board experience when big things were happening: hiring a new superintendent, passing a levy and building bond, construction of a new elementary school, maintaining positive fund balances.
Michelle has taught school, coached and worked in community organizations.
My experience with Michelle reveals her to be an open, honest, straight-talking community leader. Electing a known and trusted member of the community will be a step toward restoring community faith in the school board. Let’s help the school board; let’s elect Michelle Meyer.
