I participated in my first Sartell Apple Duathlon on Saturday, May 26 and I would like to thank all the people who stood out in the downpour and the wind for hours to cheer us on, as well as all the volunteers who worked the race. I was freezing for 45 minutes on my bike – soaked to the core – then dumped the water out of my running shoes and, shivering, tried to run fast enough to warm up through the pouring rain and headwind. My run ended in gale-force winds which inverted everyone’s umbrellas! Yet here were all these people still standing out there to cheer us on – truly amazing!
