Major road overlay projects are planned for Sartell streets, and the total price tag could reach nearly $2 million, an amount the city has already budgeted for.
The extensive overlay-and-road repair plan was presented to the Sartell City Council at its last meeting by April Ryan, city-designated engineer. Some of the projects also include seal coating and street and storm repair projects.
The council approved the plans. Advertising for bids for the projects will happen soon.
The two most major projects will be a mill-and-overlay and many improvements on 15th Street North and a full reclamation project on 12th Street N. On 15th Street, its bituminous surface and gravel underneath will all be removed (milling process) and an entirely new surface will be completed. Curbing will be added where needed, and improvements will be made at intersections along that street.
Similar work will be done on 12th Street N. Since that street is a state-aid road, it is anticipated the city will receive from the state $295,000 in state-aid funds toward the cost of the project, Ryan noted.
The city roadways to be seal-coated this summer and fall are the following:
Leander Avenue at CR 120 to north of 23rd Street S. and Leander Avenue to Connecticut Avenue.
Roberts Road to Pinecone Road S. and to Heritage Drive.
Sundance Road to its east cul-de-sac.
Vista Street at Tradewind Avenue to Sundance Road.
Providence Lane at Central Park Blvd to its north cul-de-sac.
Connecticut Avenue S. at CR 120 to 23rd Street S.
27th Street N. at the north water plant to Pinecone Road.
Connecticut Avenue S. at 23rd Street S. to 19th Street S.
Dehler Drive at Connecticut Avenue to LeSauk Drive.
Connecticut Avenue S. at 19th Street S. to the Keenland Apartments
27th Street N. at Pinecone Road to CR 1.
12th Avenue N. at 13th Avenue N. to Clemson Avenue N.
