Feb. 27
1:39 a.m. Traffic stop. CR 1/CR 120. Officers were on patrol when they observed the vehicle in front of them had a headlight out. The vehicle also had a brake light out and displayed expired registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who also admitted there was no insurance coverage on the vehicle. The officer issued a citation for no insurance and a verbal warning for the other infractions.
Feb. 28
5:19 p.m. Theft. 21 CR 120. Officers were dispatched to a business for a theft report. Staff reported someone was under-ringing items and concealing merchandise. Officers arrived and spoke with the suspect who stated they thought they had scanned all the items. Officers also searched the suspect’s jacket to make sure no other items were hidden. The officer issued a citation for misdemeanor theft and the suspect was released with the items they had paid for.
Feb. 29
5:15 p.m. Suspicious activity. Seventh Street N. The caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of their house for hours. The caller stated three people were inside the vehicle, and it was unknown what they were doing. Officers arrived and found the vehicle matching the description given. The occupants inside told officers they were in the process of selling their home and currently had showings going on, so they were waiting in the area inside their vehicle until the showings were complete. Officers called the complainant and informed them what they learned and cleared.
March 1
8:18 a.m. Harassment. Seventh Street N. Officers were dispatched for a harassment complaint. The caller said a former roommate had been spreading rumors and lies about them. The rumors had prompted several friends, and former friends, to reach out and comment about the information that was spreading. Officers advised the caller to block the unwanted numbers. Officers also called two of the parties and advised them to leave the caller alone.
March 2
10:57 a.m. Crash. Riverside Avenue. Officers responded to a home vs vehicle crash. The homeowner advised the driver was learning how to drive and had hit the gas pedal by accident, struck a parked vehicle in the driveway and then hit the east side wall of the house. Officer checked with the driver and passenger for injuries. The driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
March 3
8:33 p.m. Suspicious activity. Fourth Avenue N. The caller stated their ring camera holder had been ripped off the door, after installing it earlier in the day. The caller stated it was unknown who did it as the camera was inside charging but stated the people across the street have been acting strangely lately. Officers advised they would have extra patrol in the evening hours.
March 4
9:34 p.m. Vandalism. 12th Street N. Officers were alerted by Public Works of some vandalism at Northside Park. Officers arrived to find a trash can and port-a-potty with some burn marks in attempts to start a fire. There was also burned toilet paper inside. There are no suspects currently.
