March 14
3:02 p.m. Vandalism. Roberts Road. Officers were called multiple times throughout the day for verbal disputes, domestics and vandalism. Officers responded to the residence because they were told the male party had turned off the furnace, vandalized a car in the garage and taken garage door panels off. The officer spoke to the man who stated he was locked out of the apartment and refused to leave until he was given his property. Both parties refused to listen to officers and wouldn’t cooperate with the officers. Ultimately the officers were told to leave and their help wasn’t needed.
March 15
5:30 p.m. Shoplifter. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to a business for a cooperative male and female shoplifter in the loss prevention office. Upon arrival, the officer was advised they didn’t have anything on the man, but the woman was caught under-ringing items. The woman admitted she intentionally did not ring up all the merchandise as she was not currently working, and money was tight. The woman was issued a misdemeanor theft citation.
March 16
2:49 p.m. Snowmobile complaint. Fifth Street NE. An officer was requested to call a resident who had complaints of neighbors driving a snowmobile on her property. The caller wanted the officer to send a letter or speak to the neighbor. The officer stopped by the neighbor’s home and noted he didn’t see any recent tracks from driving and the machines were covered in snow. The neighbor was agitated with the officer as he tried explaining why he was there. The neighbor told the officer she would put the snowmobiles in the garage and closed the door as the officer attempted to talk to her.
March 17
8:34 p.m. Intoxicated person. Pinecone Road S. Officers were dispatched to a business for an obviously intoxicated man in the store. Officers arrived on scene and met with the store manager and the intoxicated man. The man was obviously impaired but cooperative. Officers assisted the man in securing his vehicle and transporting him home.
March 18
9:03 p.m. Warrant. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to a business for a man in the store believed to be going to push out merchandise from previous events. Loss Prevention recognized the man and knew he had warrants. The officer confirmed with dispatch the man had warrants and pulled up an old booking photo to confirm. The officer was informed the man left the cart of merchandise in the store and was now in row 10 near a car. The officer was able to locate the man and identified him by photo before the man could flee. The man was told he was under arrest and tried denying his identity. The man was taken into custody and brought to the Stearns County Jail for Stearns warrants, Benton warrants and Wright County warrants.
March 19
10:22 a.m. Animal. 10th Avenue N. Officers received a call of an aggressive dog running toward a man on a walk; the man had concerns he said because the dog normally is held in the yard by a tether. The officer stopped by the dog owner’s address and spoke to the dog owner. The owner told the officer she has an adult female pitbull and a puppy male pitbull. The woman told the officer the younger dog ran out the door before her daughter could put it on the chain. The officer told the owner of the complaint and she was given a verbal warning for dog at large.
March 20
8:33 p.m. Suspicious activity. Oak Pond Drive. An officer was dispatched to make contact with a woman in reference to someone leaving a dead duck on her mother’s front doorstep. The woman reported the Ring camera went off but did not catch the incident. They did not suspect anyone but believed it may be local kids. The caller stated they would call in if they received more information, or if anything else occurred again.
