City requests public input on Comprehensive Plan
Share your input on the draft Comprehensive Plan for St. Joseph. The draft Comprehensive Plan has been prepared to serve as a blueprint in the future development and growth of St. Joseph. The public comment period is open until June 11. The draft plan is available on the city website at www.cityofstjoseph.com.
Summer get-together seeks volunteers
Each year, Opportunity Matters hosts a summer get-together for the individuals served by the organization and their family members. This year, the event will be on Wednesday, June 6, at their office in Sartell and volunteers are needed between 3-8 p.m. to assist in decorating, setting-up, tearing down, serving beverages, passing plates and running carnival games. Veterans protocol team seeks new members
The Stearns County Veterans Protocol Team is recruiting new members. The Veterans Protocol is a treatment-focused program for military veterans who are charged in court with a mental health or substance-related offense.
Mentors need no legal background or experience, just a desire to help a fellow veteran. Mentors are expected to make weekly contact with assigned veterans through a phone call or an in-person meeting.

Mow lawns this summer
Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers to mow lawns on properties that Habitat owns but there is no homeowner yet on the property. Locations are in St. Cloud. Volunteers are asked to adopt a property and mow as needed throughout the summer. The time is flexible to the volunteer’s schedule. Lutheran Social Service/St. Cloud Area Crisis Nursery is in need of volunteers to staff the crisis line from home between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.. MN Reading/Math Corps seeks tutors
Minnesota Reading and Math tutors are needed in schools throughout the St. Cloud area. These positions begin in August and continue through the end of June. Literacy and math tutors earn a $597 (full-time plus) bi-weekly living allowance and up to $5,920 education award that can be used to repay federal student loans or further one’s education.
