Metro Bus Transit Center to reopen July 30;
Public Art project planned near Transit Center property

The last phase of the Metro Bus Transit Center renovation and expansion project will be complete at the end of this month. Operations will resume at the Transit Center, located at 510 1st St. S., on Monday, July 30. The Transit Center closed May 14th to complete the final phase of the project. Operations have been temporarily located along the Lady Slipper parking lot at 1st St. S.  & 6th Av. S., St. Cloud.

This is the first major renovation of the Transit Center since it was opened in 1992.  Last summer, improvements were made to the Transit Center’s interior to create a more welcoming, updated and comfortable space.  The Transit Center property expanded to the west after the purchase and demolition of an office building next door was completed in 2011.  Annually, over 750,000 bus riders pass through or utilize the Transit Center services.
