District Superintendent
Sartell-St. Stephen schools have started the 2024-25 school year with student achievements, staff dedication and strong community involvement.
This positive momentum is further energized by the return of several retired teachers who have chosen to re-enter our classrooms, labs and theaters to continue making a difference. These veteran educators bring a wealth of experience and a dedication to excellence that extends far beyond their teaching roles. Their decision to come back reflects not only a commitment to education but also to the values that make our community strong. We are deeply grateful for them.
These returning teachers carry with them decades of knowledge, relationships and a deep understanding of the culture that makes our schools unique. They help ensure students continue to receive high-quality education, while also bridging generations with shared experiences. We are grateful for their willingness to step up once more, rekindling connections with students, colleagues and families.
The Sartell-St. Stephen School District has long valued the importance of connection among families, educators, local organizations and neighbors. This sense of unity is essential as we work together to provide a safe, enriching learning environment that prepares our students for their futures. Education is, after all, a shared responsibility, and it is through the collective efforts of staff, families and community members that we create the supportive atmosphere our students need to thrive.
In line with our school district’s commitment to connection (and my fondness for coffee and conversation), I am excited to start informal monthly gatherings with the superintendent. These informal chats are an opportunity for families, students, staff and community members to come together, ask questions and share their thoughts directly with district leadership. The first session is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Riverview Intermediate School. We plan to hold future sessions at different times and in various locations throughout the district.
These gatherings are designed to be relaxed and welcoming opportunities to celebrate our successes, discuss challenges and work together to make our school experiences even stronger.
By coming together in these hour-long monthly chats, we can strengthen the bonds that make our school district a true community. Whether you have ideas to share, questions to ask or simply want to meet others involved in our schools, these chats will provide a meaningful space for open dialogue and connection.
With retired teachers returning to the classrooms and the launch of our monthly gatherings, we’re embracing our district’s values of community, connection and collective responsibility. Together, we can ensure Sartell-St. Stephen schools remain places where every student feels supported and empowered. Please join us on Nov. 19 for our first chat. I look forward to hearing from you and working together to make our schools the best they can be.
