Apollo High School administrators announced details of how the school will operate on alternate days.
On the first day of school, Tuesday, Sept. 4, ninth-graders and students new to Apollo will attend classes.
On that day, the temporary schedule and classrooms will be explained.
Students have been assigned to “A” and “B” days.
Wednesday, Sept. 5, will be the first A Day with ninth- and 10th-graders reporting to school while B Day students participate in virtual learning. Thursday, Sept. 6, with be a B Day, with 11th- and 12th-graders reporting to school while A Day students experience virtual learning. Friday, Sept. 7, will return to an A Day schedule.
The school adopted the alternating day schedule while cleanup continues from fire damage earlier this summer. Although the fire was confined to one classroom, smoke damage was more widespread and portions of the building were deemed unhealthy.
There will be an open house for Apollo parents and students from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, to learn about the A/B plan. Student photos will be taken from 4 – 7 p.m.
