An official grand opening will soon be announced sometime in July at the new Goodin warehouse, located at 726 21st Ave. NE in St. Joseph.
The large facility opened quietly on June 10. This warehouse replaces its former St. Cloud location.
The Goodin company has a long history of quality, reliability and selection of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) materials, as well as pump and well supplies. Begun in 1937 in Minneapolis by current Gooden Chief Executive Officer Joel Skagerberg’s grandfather, the family has continued its legacy while steadily expanding its territory. The Goodin company now has facilities in five states (Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin) with a total of 15 locations.
CEO Skagerberg said the company is licensed to sell at wholesale prices to licensed residential and commercial contractors. A wide range of products is available. People are welcome to come to the facility to see items in the showroom, then talk with their own contractors.
The new 200,000 square-foot St. Joseph building is 80 percent warehouse space, Skagerberg noted. The rest of the space is for offices, showroom and sales staff. The company employs about 500 people, total, for the 15 locations.
Skagerberg said they purchased a large flat field in St. Joseph, then put in their own well, plumbing and everything, then hooking up to city lines, as required.
Skagerberg explained why they chose St. Joseph for the newest warehouse.
“The land was available in a good business park with location accessibility for shipping and delivery,” he said. “St. Joseph has been very easy to work with, which made construction and completion even better. We are very happy to be in St. Joseph.”
Even before the grand opening, Goodin is open for contractors to obtain their necessary materials.

Some of Goodin’s employees are (left to right) Amy Schneider of Sauk Rapids, inventory clerk; Tim Wilcox, the manager, also of Sauk Rapids; Scott Knoll of Sartell, who does various jobs, including truck loader; and David Pick of Waite Park, who works in receiving.

This is a bird’s eye view for the new Goodin’s warehouse located in St. Joseph industrial park at 726 21st Ave. NE.
