St. Cloud Orthopedics Field in Sartell’s Northside Park was named recently as the 2023 “Tink Larson Field of the Year” award.
The field was praised for being maintained to the highest standards with countless hours of dedication by people who include Sartell city staff, contractors, volunteers, baseball enthusiasts and players during the past 50 years.
The field was named some years ago after one of its generous sponsors, St. Cloud Orthopedics.
The annual honor was named for Tink Larson, a Waseca man who for decades kept in impeccable condition a baseball field across the street from his home.
The award was presented at the June 24 Sartell City Council meeting.
Nineteen people were honored at the council meeting, and most were present to receive praise from Mayor Ryan Fitzthum. Those people honored are the following: Mike Spanier, Jed Meyer, Jason Mathiasen, Brian Deyak, Randy Beckstrom, Pete Johnson, Tony Krueger, Austin Guggenberger, Jerome Nemanich, Jeff Amann, Bruce Thompson, Steve Gabrielson, Jim Gabrielson, Brent Weber (his wife Kelly accepted on his behalf), Samantha Hemmesch, Mark Dingmann, Mary DiGiovanni, John Ross and Lesa Kraemer.
