Two City of Sartell staff members will hold a hearing for the public about “Niron Magnetics” from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at the Sartell Community Center.
The staff members are Sartell City Administrator Anna Gruber and Sartell City Engagement Director Nikki Sweeter. All are welcome to attend.
Their presentation is made possible by the Sartell Senior Connection’s ongoing program dubbed “Mixin’ It Up” Mondays, that presents interesting, timely topics and guest speakers on Monday mornings.
Based in Minneapolis, Niron Magnetics recently signed a land agreement with the City of Sartell, which will transfer the 79 acres of land free to the company as an incentive to construct a Niron Magnetics manufacturing plant in the city. The land, along Fourth Street S., was owned years ago by the Sartell paper mill and later acquired by the city.
The business is expected to create 175 permanent jobs. The company is anticipated to contribute as much or more than $8 million in tax revenue for the city.
Niron Magnetics is a maker of earth-free permanent magnets, a sustainable and environmentally friendly option compared to other types of magnets.
