Sept. 16
2:07 p.m. College Avenue S./Field Street. An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound on College Avenue faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph. The officer activated the radar and it displayed a speed of 39 mph, activated emergency lights and conducted a stop. The driver was ID’d, had a revoked license and a warrant. Scott County placed a hold. The officer cited him for driving after revocation and transported him to the Stearns County Jail.
7:38 p.m. Iverson Street W. Units were dispatched to a 911 hangup at Morningside Townhomes. An officer arrived on scene and spoke with both the complainant and the complainant’s grandmother. Both stated the family has had issues for years and they were talking about them tonight and tensions rose. The complainant called because she was concerned things were going to get physical. Nothing physical occurred. Parties discussed issues with the officer and were told to call back if things got worse again.
Sept. 17
9:11 a.m. 305th Street. Complainant called the police department to file a complaint about harassment. He stated a girl he used to date followed him to work and was harassing him. He stated there has been many complaints filed in Benton County and with St. Cloud police department. He didn’t have specifics besides her following him to work. Officer said he should file a harassment restraining order against her, but would have to file with Benton County. Advised to get HRO, have her removed from job site and that officers can assist but they would have to serve her. Advised if the manager needed anything to call the office. Strongly encouraged to file HRO, or things would just continue. He understood. Had no other questions.
8:32 p.m. Ash Street W. An officer was dispatched to a medical at for a woman with numbness and tingling. Responded and gathered basic patient info. Rescue and Mayo arrived and took over patient care. Patient was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Sept. 18
11:59 a.m. Second Avenue NW. While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle parked at a 45-degree angle halfway in the handicap stop. The vehicle had its rear door open with no one around. The officer waited for the driver to get back to her vehicle. Another car was trying to park in the handicap spot. Spoke with driver, she wasn’t aware of her parking, talked about how it’s a good idea to park correctly so others can park in the handicap spot too.
5:47 p.m. Minnesota Street E. Officers were dispatched to a neighbor dispute. The complainant stated her neighbor was upset because of a post of the complainant’s husband out in the ground. The neighbor thought it was on her property. The complainant put up a fence to keep her dogs contained and to keep the peace. There was a small gap the complainant had a post put in the ground to keep the dogs in. Post was on complainant’s property. Neighbor was upset because a metal pole went missing where the post was. No one knew anything about a metal pole. Complainant said neighbor tried taking the post out again, complainant tried to take the post back then neighbor put her foot in the hole. Neighbor claimed the complainant slammed the post on her foot. No video or independent witnesses. Officers were told to leave by neighbor while talking to her.
Sept. 19
12:04 p.m. Minnesota Street W. Officer was requested by Daniel Funeral Home and St. Joseph Catholic Church to assist with funeral escort from church to old cemetery. Assisted with traffic and leading procession.
11:27 p.m. CR 75/College Avenue N. An officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for a brake light out and expired registration. Officer spoke with the driver who only had his window cracked. Driver knew about the registration and the brake light being out. While speaking with driver, he was very irritable about this contact. Officer also was able to smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. Driver stated he had not been drinking but two of his passengers were. Driver performed field sobriety tests as requested and was even more irritable with the officer as when he was doing the walk and turn he was being difficult and was yelling how many steps he was taking. Driver requested a sergeant and the officer had two other patrols come to scene. Driver provided a breathalyzer sample of .000. Driver requested all of the officers’ business cards and stated he would make a complaint. The officer advised driver how he could do that. Verbal warning for offenses. It should be noted driver was speaking with slurred speech.
Sept. 20
3:27 a.m. First Avenue NE. An officer was dispatched for an intoxicated person. The complainant stated he had a bit to drink and wanted a ride to detox. The officer spoke with the complainant who stated he did not think he should drive and did not want to wake his neighbors. The complainant provided a breathalyzer of .277 and he already reserved a bed. The officer transported the complainant and his property to detox and released him to staff.
Sept. 21
11:51 p.m. Minnesota Street/Chapel Lane. An officer was dispatched to a medical at Minnesota St. W. and Chapel Lane for a woman who was intoxicated and barely could keep her eyes open. The patient stated she had four shots and two drinks which was more than usual. The patient stated she threw up, was dizzy and nauseated. The patient provided a quick sample breathalyzer of .115. The patient stated she had a fake ID which the officer took and subsequently destroyed. Mayo transported.
Sept. 22
1:37 p.m. College Avenue S. Officer was dispatched to a fight in progress. The complainant stated a silver Volkswagen came onto the property. He stated the driver got out of the vehicle and started fighting with the victim. Complainant stated when he tried to take a picture of the vehicle it took off. Officer spoke with victim and his friend who translated for him. He stated he knows they guy but doesn’t want to give him his name. Victim doesn’t want charges pressed and was uncooperative with the investigation. The officer explained they would document the incident and if he wants to come forward with the story they can investigate further. No further at this time.
11:13 p.m. CR 121/290th Street. While on routine patrol, an officer found a vehicle at the Sauk River landing. Officer spoke with man, who stated he was unaware of the city ordinance and was just wanting to fish. When the officer asked the man for his ID he refused until he was told he would be arrested if he didn’t. Man provided an ID and stated he did not want to provide it due to him not having a driver’s license. Officer advised man of the ordinance and to find a valid driver which he stated one was on the way.
Sept. 23
8:36 a.m. Seventh Avenue SE. Officers were dispatched to an alarm at a residence. Arrived on scene and walked around the residence. All looked fine. Ran the doorbell and dogs inside began barking. Called and left a message for the owner.
Sept. 24
3:16 p.m. 10th Avenue SE. Complainant came into the police department to report a harassment complaint. Officer used Elsa app to translate. Complainant said there is a lady who had a prior relationship with her child’s father who was harassing complainant. She played one of the 12 recordings where a man was calling her names and telling her he would kill her baby. This has been going on since 2023. They live in Wisconsin. They were unable to provide address or full names of the people. Harassment started over child’s father not paying insurance. At this point without other information or identification on the people, officer said to apply for harassment restraining order otherwise charges will be hard to press. She understood and had no other questions.
Sept. 26
12:04 a.m. CR 2/CR 75. While patrolling on CR 2 by CR 75, an officer saw several pieces of plastic and glass from what looked to be a vehicle in the turn lane. Officer moved the pieces off to the side of the roadway.
