The winter farmers’ market in Sartell will be known as “Winter Market Saturdays” in Sartell.
For the past two summers and autumns, the market was a warm-weather market only, known as “Market Monday.”
The winter one will be held four times on four Saturdays in the golf clubhouse in Sartell’s Pinecone Central Park. The market will be open for business from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the following dates: Dec. 8, Jan. 5, Feb. 2 and March 2.
“Our goal, first and foremost, is to be a farmers’ market, although there will be Christmas items for sale at the Dec. 8 market,” said Amy Braig-Lindstrom, developer and organizer of the warm-weather and winter markets in Sartell. “Another goal is not to be in conflict with farmers’ markets in other cities, like the one in St. Joseph.”
Braig-Lindstrom said visitors to the winter market can expect to find the following items: meats from two vendors, eggs from three vendors, coffee, tea, canned goods, dried herbs, root vegetables, baked goods (breads, bars, cookies), jams and jellies, and some crafts. There will also be some new items as the market progresses from one month to the next. All of the items at the market are home-grown locally and hand-crafted locally.
