Sept. 28

6:27 a.m. Verbal. Third Street S. Officers were dispatched to a verbal in progress. When officers arrived at the address they could hear yelling inside the residence, but they could only hear one voice. Upon knocking on the door, the resident opened the door, the resident told the officers she was the only person inside the home and yelling to blow off some steam. The female thought it was about 3 a.m. and that no one would actually hear her. The female allowed the officers to check her apartment to confirm she was alone and safe which she was. The female apologized and told officers she’d stop yelling.

Sept. 29

12:50 p.m. Neighbor dispute. Terry Lane. The complainant reported a new house being built next door was causing a number of problems. Complainant reported the vibration from the construction had caused pictures to fall off her walls and the deck steps had shifted away from the house. She also reported they had planted bushes on the property line, which had already been dealt with. The officer informed the female it would be hard to prove the deck steps moved due to the construction. The officer told her she could have a contractor look at the issue to see if they could back her on her claims. The officer told her she would be dealing with the contractor of the new home directly and possibly small claims court and that it was not a police matter.

Sept. 30

7:38 p.m. Verbal. Riverside Avenue S. Dispatch requested two officers to respond to a verbal in progress between two former partners and a new boyfriend. Once officer arrived on scene, parties were separated. One party explained they had broken up about two months ago and he was there to get his property back, and the new boyfriend was verbal, and they had pushed each other around. The female homeowner stated the male had knocked her phone out of her hand when she tried calling 911. She did not want to press charges but wanted the other parties trespassed from her property.

Oct. 1

9:22 p.m. Suspicious activity. Bantam Road. An officer was dispatched to a suspicious activity call. The caller stated someone had been banging on the side of her house. The officer arrived on scene and checked the area. They did not locate anyone in the area. The officer checked the backyard and did not locate anything out of the ordinary. The officer spoke to the homeowner and stated to call if anything else happened.

Oct. 2

10:13 p.m. Shoplifting. CR 120. A Sartell officer was called to a business for shoplifting by under-ringing items. The suspect had left in a white truck pulling a trailer with a pink Barbie car on it. Benton County deputies were able to stop the vehicle. A Sartell officer was requested to the stop location. The female who was suspected in the under ringing of merchandise was identified and written a citation. The three items in question were recovered and later returned to the business by the Sartell officer. The male driving the truck was arrested for a warrant by the Benton County deputy.

Oct. 3

7:58 p.m. Agency assist. River Road NE. Officers were dispatched to what the caller thought was possibly a car being hit by a train. The caller had not seen it but heard a very loud bang. As officers were responding Benton County dispatch said they had spoken to BNSF. They advised there was no crash, but they were working on the train. The officers were cancelled and returned to town.

Oct. 4

6:24 a.m. Traffic stop. Pinecone Road N. While an officer was on routine patrol, they noticed a car drive through the elementary school parking lot and then back onto Pinecone Road. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver. The driver admitted to going through the parking lot of the school to avoid the road construction. The officer discussed going around barricades versus taking the appropriate detours.

Oct. 5

10:54 a.m. Animal. Fifth Avenue N. Dispatch was notified there was a fox running in the area. Dispatch explained to the caller there wasn’t much law enforcement could do for this kind of situation since the fox wasn’t bothering anyone. The caller stated he thought the fox may have rabies because it was walking around strangely. The caller also stated they didn’t know which direction the fox went as it walked away. The officer checked the area for some time but was unable to locate a fox.

Oct. 6

12:01 p.m. Parking violation. Riverside Avenue N. Dispatch was notified of a parking violation, the truck pulling a trailer was parked in a bike lane and a no-parking zone. As the officer arrived in the area the truck pulled away with the trailer.

Oct. 7

2:25 p.m. Business assist. Lowell Lane. Dispatch sent an officer for a business assist that required an escort. The officer spoke to management and learned that per a court order the business was to inspect a home. There has been turmoil between the business and the resident. The business was given a 30-minute window to walk through the home without anyone present. The officer escorted them to the home. Management completed the walk through of the home, which lasted seven minutes. The officer never entered the home and wasn’t needed.

Oct. 8

7:53 p.m. Parking violation. 11th Avenue E. Dispatch was notified someone in an apartment parking lot was parked in a disability spot without a placard. The officer arrived and found the registered owner had a disability certificate. The officer called the complainant back and told him, although the driver needed to display their certificate, they were legally able to park in a disability spot.

Oct. 9

10:41 p.m. Agency assist. Benton Drive N. Officers were requested to assist Sauk Rapids Police Department on an unwanted person at a business. The officer spoke to the complainant who stated he had refused to serve two individuals. The male party left and a while later the female also left. The male returned looking for the female and wouldn’t leave. The male was informed he was no longer welcome and still wouldn’t leave. Officers arrived to speak to the male. The male party located the female walking on the street, and another Sartell unit went out with her. It was learned the two have been living out of a van. Mayo was called to check the female, the female refused care. The two were allowed to leave the area.
