Oct. 17 Sartell police blotter

Oct. 3

6:15 p.m. Trespass. CR 120.  An officer answered a call of an individual violating a trespass notice. The individual stated that they forgot about the trespass notice from the business. A citation was issued for the trespass and the trespass was extended for one year.

Oct. 4
3:45 p.m. Suspicious smell. Seventh Avenue S. Officers received a complaint of a smell of burned marijuana. The officer noticed the smell of burned marijuana outside the residence. Officers made contact with the residents and they admitted to having smoked marijuana recently. The residents voluntarily turned over paraphernalia to the officer.

Oct. 5
1:30 a.m. DWI. Pinecone Road. An officer stopped a vehicle for careless driving and noticed the driver showed signs of impairment. The officer conducted a field sobriety test and arrested the driver for DWI. The officer transported the driver to Stearns County Jail.

Oct. 6 
2:30 a.m. Stolen vehicle. 11th Avenue E.  Officers were notified Sauk Rapids police had stopped a vehicle listed as stolen by a resident. The driver was arrested for the stolen vehicle and the owner was contacted. The owner retrieved the vehicle from Sauk Rapids.

Oct. 7
3 p.m. Speeding. Second Street S. An officer witnessed a speeding vehicle. Officers activated radar and recorded the speed of the vehicle. An officer stopped the vehicle and the driver admitted he knew the speed limit and that he was traveling faster than the limit. The officer issued citation for his speed and a warning for not having his license in his possession while driving.

Oct. 8
5:45 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. CR 120. An officer was dispatched to a call of a vehicle stopped in a suspicious location. The officer met with the owner of the vehicle and discovered the vehicle was disabled and the owner was waiting for a tow. The officer waited with the owner with lights on for safety.

Oct. 9

8:45 a.m. Vandalism. Second Street S. An officer received a complaint from a local business about damage to their landscaping and light pole. Officers watched video and observed a vehicle drive onto the grass and strike the light pole after the business was closed.

Oct. 10

9:30 p.m. DWI. Le Sauk Drive. Officers were dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle and a light pole. The driver was interviewed and showed signs of impairment. The officer conducted field sobriety tests and placed the individual under arrest for DWI. Individual was transported to Stearns County jail.

Oct. 11

1:15 a.m. Warrant. Riverside Avenue. An officer noticed two individuals riding bikes without front or rear lights. When interviewed, one of the individuals gave a false name to the officer. The real name was eventually given and the individual was placed under arrest for a Department of Corrections warrant. Drug paraphernalia was also found and individual cited for the violation.

Oct. 12

10:55 p.m. Driving after suspension, assault. CR 1. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle traveling CR 1. The vehicle did not stop for a short distance. The driver was informed they had a suspended license. At that point the individual threw a water bottle at the officer. Individual was arrested and transported to Stearns County Jail.

Oct. 13

5:45 a.m. Traffic stop. First Street NE.  An officer witnessed an individual run a stop sign. When stopped the individual admitted to not coming to a complete stop. The officer cited the individual for not stopping.

Oct. 14

2:30 a.m. Traffic stop. 14th Street N. An officer witnessed a vehicle displaying a white light to the rear. When stopped the driver stated they had a revoked license. Upon further investigation the driver also stated that the vehicle was not insured. The driver was cited for both infractions and the vehicle was towed.

Oct. 15

7 p.m. Second Street S. Crash with injuries. Officers were dispatched to a vehicle accident in which a vehicle struck a pedestrian. The vehicle was traveling when it noticed an individual in a wheelchair attempting to cross the road. The vehicle attempted to stop but struck the individual. The officer along with the Sartell Fire Department treated the individual. The pedestrian was take to the hospital. The driver was interviewed and given field sobriety tests. Driver passed sobriety tests.

Oct. 16

8:25 a.m. 2-½ Street N. Traffic stop. While on patrol an officer witnessed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. When stopped the individual admitted to the speeding and was cited for the infraction.
