Sept. 26
4:27 p.m. Gas no-pay. Pinecone Road S. Officers were dispatched for a gas drive-off. An employee stated a customer didn’t pay for their gas. Officers called the owner of the vehicle who stated he accidentally forgot to pay for the fuel and was enroute back to the store to pay the bill. Officers notified the business they would be arriving soon to settle the debt.
Sept. 27
4:49 p.m. Animal neglect. Amber Avenue. Officers were called to a report of animal neglect. The complainant informed officers two dogs were being choked by their leash when taken outside. They also advised both animals share a small crate believed to be too small for the dogs. Officers spoke with a resident who stated her dogs were 9 and 10 months old and were hard to handle on their leashes. Officers discussed the concerns they received and after witnessing no violations, they cleared the scene.
Sept. 28
4:39 a.m. Threats complaint. Hi Vue Drive. The victim stated they were getting off the bus and received a call over Snapchat from another individual. The victim said the caller told him to meet at the park and he was going to get him. The victim did not know who the person was and didn’t recognize their voice. The victim told police they believed two people were following him in a vehicle. Due to lack of information, officers advised calling if there were any more issues.
Sept. 29
5 p.m. Property damage. 11th Avenue E. Officers responded to a report that a vehicle had been damaged. The victim stated there was a large ding on the passenger-side front door. The victim stated there were no cars when he parked the vehicle and no cameras in the area. Officers took photos of the damage and provided a case number for the victim for insurance.
Sept. 30
9:30 p.m. Noise complaint. Ninth Street N. Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. The caller reported at least three loud explosions north of their home, causing the windows in their house to shake. Our department had similar calls regarding the same thing during the last hour. Officers checked the area and found nothing. Officers advised there will be extra patrol in the area.
Oct. 1
12:13 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. 12th Street N. While on patrol, officers came across a vehicle parked at Northside Park. The vehicle was unoccupied when officers approached. Soon after the owner came walking from the frisbee golf area. He told officers he was having a bad day and was walking around to calm down. Officers advised him of the park’s hours, and he agreed to leave.
Oct. 2
1:13 p.m. Counterfeiting. Twin Rivers Court. Officers spoke with staff at the business regarding a counterfeit $20 bill. The manager stated the bill was passed yesterday by a customer, but it was unknown at what time and by who. Staff said it was not noticed until the money had been placed in the money reader and the bill was rejected. Staff also marked the bill, and it indicated it was a counterfeit. Officer took the bill into evidence. There are no suspects at this time, and staff will be reviewing store video.
Oct. 3
9:56 a.m. Crash. Hwy. 15/CR 1. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area. The driver of the first vehicle stated they were heading east in the left lane, switching into the left turn lane when they rear ended another vehicle who was stopped at the light. No one was hurt and no citations were issued.
Oct. 4
1:36 p.m. Ordinance violation. Eighth Avenue N. Our office received an ordinance-violation complaint regarding debris in a neighboring yard. Officers spoke with the homeowner about a pile of tires in the backyard. The homeowner stated they had reviewed the city’s ordinance and didn’t see anything specific regarding the tires, so they thought they would be fine. Officers advised them they needed to be removed and the homeowner agreed they would get rid of them or store them elsewhere.
Oct. 5
4:41 a.m. Hazard. Pinecone Road. Officers were dispatched to a road hazard along Pinecone Road. A car had hit one of the construction road signs in the area, causing it to block the roadway. Officers checked on the driver to make sure they were OK, before removing the signs from the road. After the signs were moved, the company arrived to pick up the signs. Officers followed up with the driver and filed a crash report for insurance purposes.
Oct. 6
4:05 a.m. Parking violation. Second Avenue N. Officers were on patrol when they came across a vehicle parked on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle was issued a parking ticket for “wrong side of the street” parking.
Oct. 7
1:56 p.m. Accident. Eighth Street N./Eighth Avenue N. Officers were dispatched for a crash with injuries near the intersection. The caller stated a man fell off his motorized scooter and was hurt. Officers spoke with the man who stated he was heading west on Eighth Street, attempting to turn onto Eighth Avenue, when he hit some loose gravel and crashed. Officers saw the man was bleeding on the top of his head and complained of shoulder pain and requested an ambulance. The man was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
Oct. 8
9:59 a.m. Special detail. Second Street S. Officer Kari Bonfield and K9 Kimber attended a youth event held at Second Street Coffee. Kimber was able to interact with community members, have some fun with the kids and take some photos.
Oct. 9
8:22 a.m. Personal assist. Fourth Avenue S. The victim called the police department and said their IPhone was being cloned. The complainant stated they gave a neighbor an older phone they were not using and noticed a lot of new apps showing up on her current phone. The caller stated the person also has access to their email and Facebook accounts. Officers gave the victim a list of things they would need to cancel and to block the suspect from their accounts. Officers advised the victim they would forward the information to the investigators for review.
