Aug. 6
2:33 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Pearl Drive. An officer observed a vehicle in a parking lot. It is not usual to find a vehicle here. It was unoccupied and no one in the area. The building was found secure. No further.

Aug. 9
5:53 p.m. Speeding. College Avenue S./Baker Street E. An officer was parked in St. Ben’s lot 13, near College Avenue S. and Baker Street E., and observed a vehicle traveling northbound that appeared to be going faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph. Officer activated their lidar and read 47 mph. The officer activated emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop, spoke with the driver and issued a citation for 40 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Aug. 10
12:40 p.m. Harassment. Iverson Street W. An officer met with the complainant at the police department in reference to harassment issues. The complainant stated an unknown woman continues to harass and insult the complainant via Snapchat. Complainant only met the woman once and believes she is upset because there is a similar interest over a man. The woman lives in the same apartment building as the complainant’s mother in Waite Park. The woman also insults the complainant’s kids. The officer advised the complainant about the HRO process, blocking the woman on social media and having someone tell the woman to leave the complainant alone. Complainant also worried the woman will find her and try doing something. Complainant advised to call 911 if the woman shows up.

Aug. 11
11:49 a.m. Unwanted person. Dale Street E. While at the residence for a child custody issue resident said she did not want another woman on her property anymore. An officer witnessed resident verbally ask this woman to leave, but she was argumentative. The officer provided resident with a trespass form that she filled out, and attempted to serve to the other woman who did not accept the form. Sgt. Johnson took the form and continued to speak with other woman.

Aug. 12
11:36 p.m. Verbal. College Avenue N. Officers were dispatched to a verbal in front of the LaPlayette. A man said he was hit by a woman multiple times while arguing with a group. One of the officers interviewed several witnesses and learned the man was the instigator. He was transporting people from St. Ben’s to the LaPlayette. The two groups started arguing and the man parked his vehicle in the middle of College Avenue and approached the other group. Someone tried stopping the man and was moved out of the way by the man, who aggressively pushed a chair out of his way striking a woman. The woman said she did not want to press charges. Officers advised the man that he was disorderly and the man claimed he didn’t know his group started the argument.

Aug. 14
8:03 a.m. Vandalism. Graceview Drive. An officer was dispatched to a mailbox vandalism complaint at 608 Graceview Drive. Complainant reported his and other mailboxes vandalized. The officer arrived and observed a group of four mail boxes three of which were laying on the ground. No paint transfer noticed. No tire tracks noticed. No other visible damage, other than being knocked off the post. Took photos. Met with complainant who stated he woke up to them like this. Did not hear anything. No cameras. Complainant’s mailbox was the only one with numbers on it that the officer could find. Complainant said he would talk to neighbors, and also the post office. Complainant told the officer when he gets the estimated cost to replace he would let police know.

Aug. 17
5:26 a.m. Domestic. College Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a 911 hangup for a man who stated he needed officers. While enroute a second person, called in stating he heard a woman say “you punched me in the face.” Two officers arrived on scene and one of them was able to hear a man and woman yelling from outside. They approached the couple and it was found from both parties that they were yelling at each other about money. Both parties stated it did not turn physical, there were no marks, bruising, cuts or other marking on either of them. The woman said she was irritated during the incident. The woman stated she did not have any injuries and both declined medical. The woman said she and the man had been drinking the night before. Both parties said they would sleep in different rooms and talk in the morning when they wake up. No crimes occurred; no statements taken.

9:01 a.m. Theft from vehicle. Second Avenue NW. An officer was dispatched to a theft from vehicle. The complainant said sometime overnight, between 7-8 p.m., someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took an unknown amount of miscellaneous change. Complainant said it was not much. Complainant also stated he thought his cigars were missing but located them. The officer checked post office and no video footage available. No other cameras or suspects.

Aug. 19
1:51 p.m. Theft from vehicle. Western Court. An officer was dispatched to a theft from vehicle. The complainants said when they came outside to leave at 1:45 p.m., they noticed both vehicles appeared to have been gone through. Both vehicles had center consoles and glove boxes left open and items scattered. Only items missing from both vehicles appeared to have been an unknown amount of change. Both vehicles were left unlocked. No damage done to the vehicles. The back gate was also left open but nothing was missing from the vehicle. The incident occurred between 8 p.m. Aug. 18 and 1:45 p.m. Aug. 19. No video surveillance and no known suspects.

Aug. 20
4:16 p.m. Trespass. College Avenue S. Police received a trespass notice issued to a person for St. Ben’s, along with all property owned by St. Ben’s and St. John’s, from St. Ben’s director of security. The notice states it was sent to the person via courier and was issued on Aug. 18.

Aug. 24
7:53 a.m. Crash. Chapel Lane/Minnesota Street. Officer arrived and met with two drivers, both denied injury and medical, spoke to parties and learned the driver of vehicle 1 was parked in a parking spot on the north shoulder facing west on Minnesota Street W just west of Chapel Lane. Driver 1 said he backed up parking spots, to try and make a left turn to go south on Chapel Lane and enter campus of St Ben’s. Driver 1 said he did not see vehicle 2 and when he pulled out he was struck in the driver’s side. Officer spoke with driver 2 who said she was driving west on Minnesota Street approaching Chapel Lane when Vehicle 1 pulled out in front of her and she was unable to stop. Photos taken. Accident info done. State crash report. Explained all papers to both. Both had their own tows enroute.

2 p.m. Medical. Lanigan Way SW. An officer was dispatched to a medical at Woodcrest in the Memory Care Unit for a report of a 90-year-old man who was not feeling well. The patient was not verbally responsive to rescue and ambulance. Low pulse and blood pressure. Staff said has been lethargic since Tuesday. Ambulance transported the man to the St Cloud Hospital.
