Still undefeated, with a seasonal record of 6-0 as of press time Wednesday, the Sartell Sabre girls swimming/diving team may be headed for another shot at the state championship.
The team is 6-0 in the Central Lakes Conference but 7-0 in its overall record.
The Sabre swimmers are two-time Class A state champions and competed three times for that honor, winning its last championship last year.
The Sabres were expected to compete with St. Cloud Apollo Thursday. They will host a sectional meet at noon Saturday, Oct. 13. Later, there will be a meet in Willmar Oct. 16 and a conference championship tournament at Willmar Oct. 25 and 27.
If they excel in those meets, the Sabres could compete once again and maybe even win once again the state championship meet. It will take place in Minneapolis Nov. 15-17.
